“Furusato Tokkyūbin” Motorized Light-Up Toy (Popy / 2005)

This motorized, light-up toy by Popy (2005) is based on “Furusato Tokkyūbin”, a named truck appearing in the Torakku Yarō film series.

In the films, the truck is driven by Momojirō Hoshi, portrayed by Bunta Sugawara, and the name “Kyōdo Tokkyūbin” reflects the series’ recurring themes of travel, nostalgia, and human connection.
As with other vehicles in the franchise, the truck’s design is a cinematic construction rather than a literal depiction of real-world decorated trucks.

The visual language of Torakku Yarō developed alongside Japan’s dekotora culture of the 1970s, with both influencing public perception of decorated trucks.
This toy represents a later reinterpretation of those film-based images, adapted into a consumer product during the mid-2000s.

映画『トラック野郎』シリーズに登場する「故郷特急便」をモチーフとした、
Popy（ポピー）製のモーター駆動・ライトアップ機能付きトイ。

「故郷特急便」は、
主人公・**星桃次郎（演：菅原文太）**が劇中で乗るトラックの名称の一つで、
郷愁や人情といった物語性を強く反映した呼称として用いられています。

映画内のトラックは、
実在のデコトラをそのまま再現したものではなく、
当時のトラック文化を映画的に演出・整理した存在です。
デコトラ文化と映画のイメージは相互に影響しながら浸透し、
その象徴的な要素が後年、玩具として再構成されていきました。

本品は、
そうした映画的トラック像を2005年当時の玩具仕様に落とし込んだもので、
精密再現ではなく、記号性や雰囲気を伝えることに重きを置いたプロダクトです。
